I have Cath Kidston's bag too

Hello friends,

Finally I have my own Cath Kidston's bag! Hoooooray..but, it is a HANDMADE! Yup finally I managed to sew it by following the instruction from the Cath Kidston's book as posted here.

The materials are from the book itself which consist of duct cotton, buttons and Cath Kidston's label. It was my first time using duct cotton and damn, it was so thick and hard to sew. It's my first time too, to sew a circle with sewing machine which was so tricky. At the end, I hand sew all the circles area. Hahahahaha.... Anyway, here is the result :)

For a meanwhile, my friends and I have engaged into a sewing class and the subject is 'Baju Kurung'. This class was held at our office every Friday lunch break. One way to consume our break time with a great activity :) Hopefully, I'm able to sew a decent cloth for myself (at least!).

Our teacher was great too. She bought the essential tools for us like below. Yup she bought it all since it was hard to find a any sewing store near our office or my home. Lucky us! Can't wait for the next class though.

Singer 2259

Hello there,

Yay finally I got myself my own sewing machine.. hoooray! Well actually it was a gift from my dear husband. 

One evening he urged me to get ready as soon as possible to go for a dinner. It's weird because usually if we agreed to have our dinner outside, we will go late. It's around 8.30 pm and he drove me to Alamanda. At the shopping complex, he said that he wanted to buy me a sewing machine! Of course I'm shock. So we surveyed around the complex but I can't make any decision. I'm afraid in making a wrong purchase.

I called my mom and she said that for a beginner, it's better if I go to Singer. They have great sewing machine and easy to reach for a customer service.

On the next day, we went to Singer Bangsar Branch. It's Saturday afternoon and surprise, surprise... they have sewing class on that day and Sunday. Wallah! Perfect day!

So I got a hand to hand tutorial by the shop owner. She teach me how to use the machine in general. Apart from that, she explained about all the basic stitches one by one. Wow, lots to learn in one day. A short visit become so long due to the impromptu class :)

My machine of choice is Singer Model 2259 and I love it!

To try it out, I'm making a table runner. This is the only fabric I have and yup I need to have a new one. 

I've tried four kind of stitches and so far so good. :) Do you like my new table runner?

Oh what next should I sew? I guess it gonna be lot of projects coming to momma :) Oh yeah!

iPhone Apps: Collage Day

Hi,

My new obsession is of course an iPhone. For this posting, I would like to share with you guys a great iPhone application called Collage Day.

It is a tool to do a simple digital scrapbook with lot of cute accessories.

The accessories offered in below ranges:
Background - Patterned & border
Stamps - Plain masking tape, lace border, buttons, clouds, romantic Paris, musical notes, doilies, spoons & forks, balloons, anchor, Halloween, candies. There some more but I'm not sure what the best description is.

However, what I don't like about this application is that you can't reverse the accessories selection. Once selected, it will be there. To re-do, you need to delete all your works.

Edit your pictures at Picasa

Hi,

Have you try the new Picasa function after Picnik collaborating with Google to upgrade the image processing? Well, it was totally great! What I love most is they offer Cross Process, 1960's, Lomo-ish, Border and Polaroid. I'm so happy that they have the Polaroid function as I don't need to use Photoshop anymore. Urg I'm so stress out when using Photoshop as the software was soooooo huge for my laptop processor & memory (I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terms -.-).

Anyway, here are some output after using some of the best editing function.

First video using Windows Live Movie Maker

Hello,

This is first I'm using a Window Live Movie Maker (WLMV) and I do think that this software is enough me. Using the software, you can add a music, choose which scene you want to cut, move or remove, add captions with a fancy font with a basic format like a Microsoft Office and lots more.

I'm not sure most of the term for video making because this is my field. So I'm not comfortable to elaborate more on this project. :)

Please do try for the experience in making a video using WLMV.

Not to forget, this is a video I made for Toty's fan. Toty is my husband and I first cat and he has lots of fan from our family and friends.

I like the music in the video and have tried to find the minus one version but failed. I know that it's not suit well, but I just don't want the video be so quite :)

Polystyrene Cutter Again

Okay, today I'm going to talk about polystyrene cutter again. I'm not sure why am I so into it but I definitely impress with this kind of machine.

Polystyrene cutter appeared today is so much new to me but it's not easy to use. Here is the cutter.

To use, you need to hold the cutter and click the switch and run through polystyrene. I said this is a hard tool because one hand you need to hold the cutter and the switch while the other hand you need to hold the polystyrene. You need to have a very stable and straight hand, if not the output will messy.

The advantage of this machine is, it's a portable and use battery instead of electric. When you leave the switch, the cutting wire immediately cold down which allow you to think and take a next steps/cuts.

This tool is most suitable if your design is complicated like a flower and so on.

Here are my work using this cutter. The words of this time is so much smaller than the words as above picture. I'm so stress out doing it. See that some of the word is at their worst quality. :O

Out of the topic, here is the progress from our Staff Movement Board under 5S project. Previously, I've post about the proposal for this board here.

Polystyrene Cutter - so vintage

As you might know, currently I'm consumed with 5S project at the office. The office has set up every Friday as a 5S day.

Last Friday, I managed to finish the polystyrene cutting. That was the most boring task I've ever done. It's not like a sewing machine. This is so much slower! Sometimes I fell asleep when doing this..huhu.

Ok I'm not posting my nagging.

I just wanted to share with your guys our polystyrene cutter machine. The look is so vintage. The machine is the most simplest machine I've ever seen. Well, I've never use any of it before in my life. So, I'm quite.... erm feel funny actually.

What is current polystyrene cutter in the market?

I don't know. I am too lazy to make any research now. Mainly because today is a laziest day in this week. SUNDAY!

Recently I went to the art store looking for a Mod Podge. Err..... eventually there are lots of Mod Podge types. Which one to choose?
